Hans de Leeuw was a Craft and Technical  Studies teacher at the Karel de Grote College, a Waldorf  school, in Nijmegen, Holland. After his studies in Electro technique and Electronics in Utrecht, he  worked as a teacher in a high school. Over the last 17 years he has been working in Karel de Grote College and has always been  interested in combining art and technology. He has collaborated with many artists integrating the two subjects for students working on several multi-disciplinary projects. He has also focused in attention in recent times on 3D printing , and started a course (Betalab) for students with with an interest and inclination in electronics and robotics.
About 7 years ago he decided to build 2 traditional Canadian Canoes for his own family and friends. He has visited India twice to oversee 2 boat building lessons with students from 3 continents, in 2015 and 2016 . This will be his third boat building lesson for an international group of class 10/11 students, in September/October 2022.
