Prerequisites
- It needs to be emphasised that this is not a holiday program, but a structured educational lesson requiring commitment and discipline from all participants. A night-time curfew will be in place to ensure that students/participants are able to fulfil the work and learning outcomes of the program. Students need to be physically and emotionally balanced in order to complete all the required tasks and activities.
- While all participants will be equipped with life jackets during boating activities, some time will be spent over water and therefore the ability to swim would be preferable.
- Participants should be at least in the year in which they turn 15 years of age (15 + years). Older students and adults are also welcome to participate in this lesson.
- Mobile phones, laptops (unless required for the lesson), and other electronic equipment will not be permitted for student use during workshop or classroom sessions. Adults may carry and use such devices during breaks or after lessons, if required.
- All students will be required to submit a letter from their school or class teacher permitting them to attend the program, including a brief reference to their general conduct and behaviour at school. Home-schooled students are not required to provide this letter.
- Following registration, a parental consent form, student agreement, and medical history form will need to be completed and submitted prior to participation in the program.
